3 Apps that Creators Can Download Following The TikTok Ban Jump Scare

By: Yolanda Jean-Baptiste

The TikTok ban that Americans have been preparing for has been lifted by President Trump. Though scheduled to shut down on January 19th, users lost access earlier than expected and then regained access less than a day later.

Since its expansion in 2018,
TikTok has become the go to app for anyone looking for all things quick, viral, and informative. However, with concerns of national security threats, the longevity of TikTok has been threatened. Though the app has returned, it may not be for long.  In light of these recent events, many are wondering if there’s a reliable platform to try, especially creators.

Over
one million creators have used TikTok to grow their personal brand, promote their businesses, and generate income. While the world is happy the app is back, creators and entrepreneurs should take time to strategically replace TikTok just in case the ban is upheld.

Here are three apps that can help creators continue growing their brand and gain a new following:

Twitch

If you have ever heard of twitch sensation, Kai Cenat, then you have seen the product of what a successful streamer looks like. With over 16 million followers, he has built a brand that has led him to land major partnerships with brands like T-mobile and McDonalds.

Though twitch was originally created for gamers, it has become a platform for everyday people to stream everyday things such as hanging out with friends, studying or cooking family meals.

There are endless possibilities on this app. Just be creative and be you!

Rednote

Rednote, also known as “Xiaohongshu”, is a popular social media app in China that Americans are quickly downloading. This past week alone, Rednote has gotten over 1 million downloads in response to rumors of the TikTok ban and it has become the most downloaded app this past week.

Though it’s another Chinese app, not created for English speakers, it could be worth a shot.  Entrepreneurs and creators can download this app to find a new audience and hopefully experience viral moments.

RUMBLE

Rumble may not have as many downloads as Rednote, but it may be a good app for creators to consider.  With over 250,000 creators, Rumble is a video sharing platform where users can build their brand and possibly get monetized. This platform also offers live streaming, channel creation, and video hosting.

With everyone's attention on Rednote, Rumble might be a great app to explore since it is not as saturated. If you decide to try it out, remember the key to success for any social media app is consistency.

No matter what the future of TikTok is, every creator should learn to have their eggs in multiple baskets. This will ensure that your hard work doesn’t go to waste in times of social media, political, or economic changes.

TikTok may no longer be the same, but creativity will always find a way to shine and reach the right people.

Don’t be discouraged by the changes in ban but rather, see it as another opportunity to create with excellence and reach success!
